==General Comments==
This is one of the Sparrow Poems, the others being [[Catullus 2]] and [[Catullus 2b]]. Something lost in translation is the fact that Catullus switches from the plural you he was using for the "foul shades of Orcus" in lines 13 and 14 to a singular you (presumably addressing the sparow) in line 17.
