Hi, I don't know were to look for this... when transcribing a text, am I supposed to expand the abbreviations I find in the original text, i.e. & -> et, Gręci -> Græci, eodē -> eodem and so on (well, at least when I'm pretty sure ''what'' the abbreviatioin stands for)? And if so, should I use the [[Template:Pt]], like <nowiki>{{Pt|Gręci|Græci}}</nowiki>, or some other method? <br/>
And another question, this one really ''newbica'', how can I resolve the notes on the left/right margin, such as the [[Pagina:Marcus Terentius Varro - De Lingua Latina - ex Typographeo Adami Sartorii - 1605.djvu/54|*al frigus]] scribbled there? is there a template for that? :For sidenotes you can use [[Formula:Left sidenote]] and [[Formula:Right sidenote]], though since they're noted in the body in your text a standard <code><ref></code> footnote might be more appropriate. The Latin Wikisource doesn't appear to have any specific guidelines on transcription—I'm new here too—but the English project's guideline seems to be followed here too: "Special characters such as accents and ligatures should be used wherever they appear in the original document, if reasonably easy to accomplish." So I would retain the abbreviations if they're available in Unicode. For what it's worth, though, looking at the texts you're transcribing the nasal consonant accent is actually a tilde and not a macron (i.e. eodẽ). —[[Usor:Nizolan|Nizolan]] ([[Disputatio Usoris:Nizolan|disputatio]]) 20:27, 16 Maii 2019 (UTC)
