Vowel length

Hello, A syllabe is heavy if 1- the vowel is indeed long, and/or 2- if the syllabe ends with a consonant. In the poem, some normally short vowels in syllabes ending with a consonant are noted as long, which looks very weird. Shouldn’t they be noted as short instead? I imagine this notation is used for scansion in order to indicate clearly the heavy syllabes, but I don’t think it’s the right way to do that. Medunta (disputatio) 16:47, 8 Novembris 2022 (UTC)Reply
